We’re a brand new, curated festival celebrating independent genre film. We just finished our inaugural festival and will soon start accepting submissions for 2026!

What’s a ‘genre’ film?

Anything strange, thrilling, fantastical, magical or horrifying. Horror, sci-fi, fantasy, musical, animation—anything that’s weirder than a straight rom-com or drama.

What’s a curated festival?

We put together the programming by reviewing over 100 entries from around the world to find the ones we think you’ll love the best.

How can I submit a film?

We’ll be accepting submissions early in January. The best way to stay informed is to sign up at the bottom of the page. You can also add us to your list on FilmFreeway

Who are you guys?

We’re the purveyors of the Horror Show Hot Dog podcast and the Horror Show Hot Dog Short Film Festival, which ran from 2015-2019 with the Twin Cities Horror Festival.
